CAYA TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM

Our 200-hour certification program is designed to fully prepare you to become a confident, highly qualified Pilates instructor. You will learn to teach beginner, intermediate, and advanced Pilates exercises on the Reformer as Joseph Pilates originally intended, honoring the principles of Contrology.

Throughout your training, you will develop the skills, knowledge, and teaching presence needed to confidently lead both group Reformer classes and private sessions. Upon completion, this certification can be used at studios nationwide, opening the door to professional opportunities across the country.
Part 1- Classical Beginner Series
Saturday 9/12 1:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Sunday 9/13 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM
*Part 1 written and practical test out needs to be completed by 10/3.
Part 2- Classical Intermediate Series
Saturday 10/3 1:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Sunday 10/4 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM
*Part 2 written and practical test out needs to be completed by 11/7.
Part 3- Classical Advance Series
Saturday 11/7 1:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Sunday 11/8 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM
*Part 3 is the final practical. Apprentices can test out for the final test out once observation/teacher training hours are completed. 4/10/27 is the deadline.
Apprentices have from 9/12/27 - 4/10/27 to complete the following:
Workshop weekends, observation/teacher training hours, 2 written tests, and 3 practical tests. Observation/teacher training hours can be completed on your time/schedule within the timeframe.
TOTAL HOURS:
Workshop - 30 HRS
Observation - 60 HRS
Teacher Training - 110 HOURS
Workshop hours - are the hours we meet as a group during the above dates and times. During these hours we will go over the course objectives.
Observation hours - can be completed in the studio or at home utilizing our video platform. Taking classes also qualifies for observation hours.
Teacher Training hours - completed at the studio with an employee of Caya, with another apprentice from your group, or at home if you have a reformer.
Once you complete and pass your Part 2 exam you can audition to teach and/or sub at Caya. These hours can go toward your certification as a paid apprenticeship.

The history of Joseph H. Pilates and the evolution of Contrology

Introduction to the Pilates Reformer and its foundational principles

Pilates-specific anatomy and biomechanics

Vocal tools, cueing techniques, and voice health for effective instruction

Professional instructor etiquette and studio presence

Class programming and sequencing for safe, effective, and engaging sessions
